It's going into the third lesson for the three modules coming week. Attempting to do assignment for the most boring module (to me) and i'm surfing net and blogging instead...zzzz

Maybe i'm still on honeymoon? Or maybe i'm totally lost. Friends have been asking me how's class. My answer: I feel lost. I'm trying hard to pay attention in class and listening to what the lecturers are trying to say. But I seriously dunno how much I've absorbed.

And coincidently, my second lesson coincides with the DT workshop. My days were from 830am to 10pm from Mon-Wed on the week before CNY. It was so tiring! (Given that I only had ard 5hrs of sleep on those nights.)

Time really flies....and soon, I will have to submit my assignments!! Those that are included in the final score! >.< 2000 words, 3000 words....how to write man....Ahhhhhh....

It's gonna be a new start! I'm starting my part-time studies!

Life will be busy and come March, I think I may go crazy. At school, it's probably the peak for submission of assignments. At work, it's the closing of financial year and i'm picking up ropes from colleague as I will need to cover her work when she goes on maternity leave. My end Apr/early May holiday seems difficult.

I'm taking 3 modules for a start. I hope I can cope, so that I can complete all 12 modules within 16 months. Seriously, the studies was quite an impromptu decision. I had the urge to do something different, and I thought this course is quite related to my current work, so I quickly register before i change my mind or procrastinate till years later.

I hope I made the right decision.

Letting Go

Chanced upon these pictures while I was goggling for my presentation. And came across this article/lesson on "Letting Go". The 26th day/lesson for Be a Better Me in 30 Days. Interesting eh?

Here's what the lesson is about:

Is there anything you are holding on to from the past? Something that happened long ago, but somehow continues to replay in your mind even today?

Letting go – It’s the act of releasing something we are hanging on to. Letting go is important as it helps us to create a better future – a future which we seek to have one day.

Despite that, many of us refuse to let go of the unhappy past of yester-years. We hold on to the unhappy memories, grievances, pains and regrets that are long over, and punish ourselves by replaying them over and over again in our minds. We weigh ourselves down with baggage built up from past encounters; baggage we cling on to ever so tightly. We mull over things that happened long ago – things which we cannot even change anymore.

How can one tell when there’s something he/she has not let go yet? Below are some clear signs:

When the situation replays in your mind again and again – even though it’s long over
When you keep bringing it up in unrelated conversations with others
When you always find some way to link what you are doing with what happened
When you still feel bothered by it today
When you experience some form of regret, grievance, or lingering doubt about what happened

As I mentioned above, it’s important to let go, because letting go allows us to move on to a better future. When you hold on to your past, it’s like dragging carcasses around in your wake. Carcasses, full of filth and stench, that can be picked up from a full mile away. By holding on to these carcasses, you get pulled back by a lot of dead weight, which in turn prevents you from living to your truest self and living every day to your fullest. This prevents you from receiving new things into your life.

Today’s task is to let go of something from your past.

Your Task: Letting Go

What is one thing/incident from your past that bothers you today?
- What is something that often resurfaces in your memory? Something that irks you from time to time? Something that would (at times) make you feel bad (about yourself) whenever the memory resurfaces?
- It can be something that happened long ago in your childhood or something that just took place recently.
- It can be a one-off incident, a series of events, or an entire phase in your life.
Write down what bothers you about this thing/incident.
- Come up with an entire list of reasons. The more, the better.
- The objective here is to empty out your grievances via brain dumping. The reason why #1 keeps resurfacing in your mind even today is because you never got to address your grievances when the situation first occurred in the past. So the more you can dump out your frustrations now, the better.
- Keep writing until you attain a new level of clarity and calmness on the situation.
Looking at your answers in #2, what do you think is/are the real reason(s) you haven’t been able to let go to date?
- What are the answers that jump out at you? These would provide some clues as to what has been holding you back.
What do you plan to do about this moving forward?
- Create your action steps to address the root causes in #3.

Notice that we are addressing the issue by

(1) first emptying our grievances

(2) sieving through our thoughts, one by one

(3) creating our action steps to move forward.

Letting go isn’t about making yourself forget something forcefully – it’s about understanding the root of the problem and addressing that with delicate care and attention, after which it’ll then slowly disintegrate as you work your way through the core.

Writing this post earlier this year. Because I will be having a different New Year's Eve this time. Going Bangkok (Yes, again! My 3rd time there.) with Sis & Uncle to celebrate New Year. It was an impromptu trip (Though there were some complications, but I hope it will be a smooth trip!) as I wanna have a short getaway before my busy life starts.

Looking back at 2011... It was indeed a busier & fun-filled, yet emotional year! I think there were also many first-times in 2011. I appreciate all the love and care my family and friends gave. Thank you for everything.

2012, Move forward! Embrace the new challenges! And may there be more Love, Peace & Ice-cream! :)

December 2010 was sweet. December 2011 was busy. I have a love-hate relationship with December. Love - My favourite festive season, Christmas! Hate - The quietness in office and the money spent, despite having bonus. Sometimes, I wish I can turn back time, turn it back to Dec 2010. I wonder if things are different now. Well, when you miss the right moment, you will never find it back again.

As usual, I've been eating and eating. November was worse! Eat all the way at Taiwan! LOL. It was overall quite a good trip. The weather was good and the tour pple and guides were nice. Just that I didn't buy much as most clothings were winter wear. Workwise, busy with workplan and catching up of things that have been dragged for the longest time...zzzzzz

I wonder if it was just a random post or were you referring to anyone.

Hectic Week

The past week was a long week, despite being a 4-days work week for me. Ran my first marathon on Sunday and applied leave on Monday to spend some time alone to shop.

Covering my colleague's work on Wed and Thu as she was on MC. Chasing, arguing, facing SQBL pple. Zzzzzz. Heng it was settled by end of Fri. A friday that is like any other weekday at work - busy the whole day, meeting over lunch, chasing boss for concurrence and finally shutting down at 7pm.

How should I start telling? It's difficult to motivate people when one has lost her passion and has no motivating factor to work at all? Worse still, she works hard but is just doing what she is expected to do. Sighzzz. It is bad when my boss tells me to do something about my team. It's so difficult to draw the thin line.

It's not about wasting my time. But I just wish you don't do things for the sake of doing or feeling paisei or to return favour. Sometimes I really wonder if it is because I am conveniently available.

I applied for Masters studies, in HRM. Looking forward to the new year and a new beginning.

One Day

Dexter and Emma spend the night together following their graduation from Edinburgh University in 1988. They talk about the future and how they will be once they are 40. While they do not become romantically involved completely, this is the beginning of their friendship.

The novel visits their lives and their relationship on July 15 in successive years in each chapter for 20 years. Emma wants to improve the world and begins writing and performing plays, which remain unsuccessful, while Dexter travels through the world, drinking and hooking up with women. Eventually both move to London where Emma becomes a waitress in Kentish Town at a Tex-Mex restaurant, while Dexter becomes a successful television presenter. While there are various attempts from both sides to start a relationship, coincidences stop Emma and Dexter from getting together and while they have relationships with other people, they stay best friends, both secretly longing for the other. They are drawn together closer through a holiday together and the death of Dexter's mother. Ian, Emma's boyfriend breaks up with her after he realizes that she is in love with Dexter and not with him. During this time Emma is able to find a job as a teacher, after various years of struggle, despite a "double-first degree". Dexter meanwhile develops a drinking and drug problem and watches his career collapse.

The friendship between Emma and Dexter grows more and more difficult, after Emma is constantly hurt by Dexter who attempts to hide his feelings for her from both her and himself. After being treated rudely by Dexter at a restaurant, Emma breaks up the friendship. At the wedding of Emma's former roommate, Emma and Dexter meet again. Emma admits that she wants Dexter back. At this point of time she has just ended an affair with her headmaster, Dexter has fallen in love with another woman, Sylvie, who is pregnant. At this reunion, he invites Emma to his wedding, who is disappointed by the situation. Emma eventually overcomes her problems and publishes a book, while Dexter is unemployed and overwhelmed by his role as a father. After realizing this, he and Emma for the first time have sex. They do not get together and Emma leaves to go to Paris to write her second novel.

When Dexer visits her in Paris, he learns that she met someone and likes him and for the first time admits his feelings to her. After talking about their relationship, Emma chooses Dexter. Emma and Dexter get married and are happy together, however Emma wants a child. The couple finds themselves frustrated by the failing attempts to have a child. Dexter however is able to open a deli-cafe and finds himself suddenly successful again. On the anniversary of the day they met after graduation and the day they got together, Emma and Dexter have an appointment to see a house. While travelling there, Emma has a bike accident and dies.

After her death, Dexter finds himself in despair. He starts to drink again and provokes people in bars in order to get beaten. He is comforted through his ex-wife Sylvie, his father and his daughter. The upcoming year he travels together with his daughter to Edinburgh where he and Emma met and they climb the same mountain together that Emma and Dexter climbed 19 years ago. The book ends with a memory of what happened after that first night together in 1988 and Emma's and Dexter's first kiss and promise to stay in touch and their goodbye.

Fast-Paced October!

Yes! It's that time again! To summarise what I've done for the past one month. Every month passed sooooo fast~ So fast that I'm so scared. It's like racing against time!

Sep went past with ranking work to do…and in a blink, it’s Nov now. What was I doing in Oct? Why is my to-do list never ending? Why are all my items in the workplan only done now? This is bad. BAD.

1 Oct: Went back to office to clear my workstation. It was very messy. Threw quite a bit of unwanted stuff away. But some things are still there.
2 Oct: Went Tampopo @ Liang Court for lunch and KTV with Yuni, Laura and Lenny.
3 – 7 Oct: Work, Work, Work. As I worked, I ran, did pilates and I think I watch The Change Up with Kev on Tue/Wed/Thu. We were supposed to swim w SY at her colleague’s condo, but it poured! It was so dark that we don’t feel like gg home. The movie was an impromptu but great move! It was a hilarious movie.

8 Oct: Udders Ice-Cream Workshop @ Novena + 拜拜 @ 四马路观音庙 + Real Steel @ Bugis, Dinner @ The Barracks, Dempsey, Friends with Benefits @ Nex.
9 Oct: Nike Race, but I didn’t manage to sign up. So I ran a 8km on 09.10.11 on my own.
10-14 Oct: Work, Work, Work. Had mini-steamboat on 13 Oct. I think there’s bound to be a discussion/meeting once every 2 days. At times, there is something on everyday! It’s both good and bad.
12 Oct: Brother’s 10th birthday.
14 Oct: Branch meeting, followed by Branch lunch in celebrating Halloween.
15 Oct: Siying’s and James’s Big Day.
18 Oct: One month without shopping.
19 Oct: I think I had mini steamboat for lunch again. One month from the day I cried. Ten days to Krabi. One month to Taiwan. Mixed feelings.

Bird's Nest Feast by Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant from 1 August to 15 September 2011. Went to the ParkRoyal on Beach Road outlet - the one at level one was under renovation and they are temporary located at level 4 ballroom.

2nd dish: Bird's Nest and Dried Scallop with Egg White - My favourite dish! It's very nice!! Wonder when's the next time I get to eat this dish.3rd dish: Silver Cod with Chilli Padi and Garlic. The look of it seems very spicy, but it doesn't taste spicy at all! The fish was soooo nice!!

4th dish: Braised Homemade Beancurd with Spinach and Mushroom - another of my favourite dish when I go Chinese restaurant. I tried making this once, but failed. I think I shall google for the recipe and try again soon! :p

5th dish: Fried Rice with Sichuan Preserved Vegetable (with luncheon meat & beansprout) - We wanted to change to some noodle dish, but the waitress keeps saying this is nice. And it turns out to be really nice!

6th dish: Bird's Nest with Chilled Aloe Vera - Another highlight of the menu! Super nice!!! Too bad the amount of Bird's Nest is too little.

Additional dish: My favourite Liu Sha Bao!!! But they called it 金沙包. Sounds like MBS 包. And it's very nice!! Though it's size is very small, the skin is not too thick and the salted egg yoke + custard inside is delicious!!

Every customer got a fortune cookie. Here's mine. I think their translation is horrible.

We filled up the feedback form as we waited very long for the LiuShaBao. It was sent with only 2 buns, then the waitress took back again as it was supposed to have 3 buns. And we got a pack of 八宝茶 tea leaves for filling the feedback form. Really 真材实料 - 8 types of herbs/leaves/flowers. Nice tea!!

My boss is back from maternity leave. I shld be glad cos there will be someone to fight for us. Someone to block us from the unnecessary. Someone to support us. Met her up for a discussion as she wanted updates for development n engagement stuff - two areas that I'm overseeing now. I knew I had to meet up with her few days before and was trying hard to think what I can tell her. Then i come to realize. I have been having "honeymoon" - as mentioned by her during our discussion too. Without her, there is no one to push me.

Sidetrack: The level above leaves me on my own most of the time. He once asked me how do I want him go manage me. I said not to micro-manage, but at least ask for updates. Yet, nothing changed. And he is still the same - seldom ask for updates, never check emails, give weird ideas, forgets what he says/does. ZzzzZzzz.

Back to the discussion w boss, I guess I disappoint her cos I've not changed for the past 4mths. My bad habit still exists. I guess this lover - procrastination will take some time to leave me. I think my motivation or passion in my area of work is fading. I dunno why. Maybe there's nothing new that excites me. Maybe our area is always secondary to the others. She could see it too. Only 30% of the pple in my branch is motivated (And yes, I'm not in her list of motivated officers). I want to feel motivated too. Else, how can I motivate my direct staff. It's an irony that my staff in turn motivates me at times, feeding my with the positive quotes and staff. It's also a challenge to supervise colleagues who have turned friends.

I have wasted too much time for the past few months thinking. Today shall be the last day I feel sad/emo, tear, procrastinate, think too much, etc. I shall say goodbye to the negativity thoughts. I will not be bothered by other things anymore. I shall focus on what I wanna do and what I wanna achieve.

August is gonna be filled with activities and work. And Sep onwards is gonna be exciting too, starting with Kaisi's wedding. Looking forward to the months ahead. From now on: Think Simple! Be Happy! :)

P.S. I know the picture above has no link to what I type at all. I was searching for a wallpaper with rainbow and sunflowers and these 2 carebears appeared. Why didn't I thought of this! Rainbow bear and Sunflower bear! :) Though I spent almost half the weekend sleeping away, I managed to publish a few posts and I'm glad I did.

It was quite an impromptu one. We (Me, Kev and Seowyan) were chatting over Whatssapp on Thu and we've decided to meet up for dinner on Fri night. And I suggested Strictly Pancakes as I've recently saw some posts of it on FB. As a pancake lover, I wanted to try. True enough, the pancakes are very nice! So much better than Mcdonald's ones. However, the side dishes were so-so only, except the sauteed mushrooms.. :p

I think it was early this year? We met up to eat nice dim sum.

Reservation is recommended if you are going on weekends. They gave us such a big table and we could place our orders around the table. I think we ordered more than 10 or more items! And I think it's worth the money.

Reservation is recommended if you are going on weekends. Their restaurant will close at 3pm or 4pm (can't recall). So if you are late, you may be chased away. We ordered a lot too! And they were nice and worth the money! I think the price and quality are the same as Taste Paradise. So I will prefer to go Taste Paradise as I think their service is better. (At least, they won't attempt to chase pple away.)

Recently, Kev, Peishi and myself are on a ktv craze! My new singing buddies! We can sing non-stop! 3hrs or 4hrs or 5 hrs are never enough! And everytime we sing, there will be funny instances. Hahaha...Good time to sing and laugh out loud.

Dunno how it started, we call ourselves the stunningly beautifuls. So the 3 of us form the SBC - Stunningly Beautiful Club. :p Anyway, after many sessions in SG @ KBox or Partyworld, we've decided to venture overseas for our "concert". Hehe. Hence, we decided to go JB since the ktv there is cheap!

On 16 Jul 11, we met at Woodlands MRT at 9:30am to take bus to JB. We then took a cab from City Square to Jalan Sutera, Taman Sentosa for the famous 顺发 Bak Kut Teh!! :) Look at our faces below!! I was so hungry that it was the first time i finished my food faster than PS! We add all extra ingredients for our BKT and the chicken was superb! We spent almost RM60 for lunch only!

After the hearty meal, we walked ard City Square to digest our lunch before we sing our hearts out. I was glad I stepped out of Padini Concept Store empty handed! Haha. And we saw this ice-cream shop!!! The flavours were quite unique and it was very cheap! 3 scoops for RM8.90 only! It's cheaper than my 1 scoop of B&J here! Me and Kev each ate 3 scoops w the big waffle cone. :)

Finally, as we are running out of time, we headed to Neway KTV, which is located at 4th or 5th storey of City Square. Here's the pricelist! Where can we find such cheap KTV in SG!!!

Though the screen in our room was quite small, but they are using wireless microphones!! It's time that KBox and Partyworld change theirs. At first we took the Happy Hour Package. 3 hrs for 1 drink + 1 snack item. As usual, it was not enough, so we sang another 2 hrs paying the same price for the package as it was only until 7pm. So RM40 nett for 5 hrs of singing was dirt cheap!!!
We wanted to go for Curry Fish Head outside City Square for dinner, but it was only opened in the day. So we went back to City Square and ate Jap food for dinner. The food was decent and cheap. And it has quite a wide variety. I will go back again! It's located at the basement.
Though I didn't buy any clothes, shoes or bags, I went crazy over Angry Birds merchandise while the girls went crazy over bread! :s They bought quite a lot of bread from Lavender Bakery.

Looking forward to the next JB outing! :p

Goodbye 2010, Hello 2011

Happy New Year!!! Time flies!!! It's the last day of 2010!!! And I realised I use the same title (just tt different years) for last yr's year-end/new year post too!

I was telling my colleague...seems like I didn't achieve much in 2010. She was saying not to look back, but to look forward. Haha. Quite true also. But I thought, better to take stock of what I've done in 2010? I guess it's more of "leisure" achievement, rather than achievements in work or other aspects. Haha.

Looking back at 2010 (shall not break down into months this time round, since nothing much was accomplished actually):

- Ran a few marathons: Sundown (completed my first half-marathon), Race Against Cancer, Yellow Ribbon, Nike Human Race, SCM2010 (my 2nd half-marathon)

- Watched 3 concerts: Ah Mei (Jan), Mayday (Apr), Sammi (Nov)

- Travelled to a few places: Bangkok (Jan), Batam (Jun), Macau (Oct), Langkawi + Penang (Nov)

- Work wise: still doing the same things, but getting involved in other functions too. Hopefully, can do something big so that it looks good on resume in future too.

Looking forward to 2011:

- Always wanted to set up blog shop, but no time!!! The website is up, but nothing for sale yet. Prolly do it over flea markets first. Haha

- Want to complete a full marathon, still thinking if i shld sign up Sundown...shall wait for details to be up.

- Pay more attention to my family and friends, not say i'm not doing right now, but will do more in the new year.

- Stay positive in whatever I do.

- Say goodbye to procrastination and scatterbrain.

- And of cos, to continue travelling!!! But where shall i go....hmmm..too many choices, too little vitamin M. For a start, going back to Bangkok again!! :D

Guess my next post will be up when I'm back from Bangkok. Till then, I will post all my travelling posts.

And finally on 10.10.10, the sisters went to Yuni's house at 6:30am to prepare the games for the groom and his brothers. I guess we were too kind. Hahaha. And the groom was so creative to give us hongbao with various currency!

After the games and photo-taking, went to MS's house for the tea ceremony, then back to Yuni's house for tea ceremony and it was half-time. After a quick bath and packing, we head to Crowne Plaza Hotel to prepare for the dinner. The couple danced and sang. It was a beautiful night. :)

Once again, Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Goh.

Merryyy Christmasss!!!

My 2nd Standard Chartered Marathon! This year, I signed up for Half-Marathon. Will attempt for the Full Marathon next year! :) Ran with Yuni, SY and ML this year. The route took us to USS!! Made me wanna go there soon!! But I shall wait for the exciting roller coaster! Hehehe...

Time flies! It's almost a month since I last blog! And I haven't blog about my Macau trip w Mum! I was supposed to get my engine started again after my Macau trip. Time is just so so so so so fast. I am gg for another holiday again. This time to Langkawi and Penang (for Junnie's wedding). I just hope my engine can go at full speed when I'm back.

Time is getting faster at work as days past. My portfolio is expanding and the plate is gonna overflow soon. I just hope what I saw will be true. It is always prone to changes. Doesn't wanna pin too high hopes. *fingers crossed*

28 Aug 10 - Sinful Saturday

Met up with Yuni to try bridesmaid gown, then met Laura Lee for dinner @ Vivo. Before we make our way to Vivo, we went for manicure @ Tanjong Exchange. It was only $10 for Express Manicure at Nail Palace! :)

Had a simple dinner at Bosses cos me and Yuni had drinks and peanut butter thick toast at ard 5pm! Walked ard Vivo and went for desserts..The amount we spent on desserts was more than our dinner! LOL. The dessserts were heavenly and sinful!

29 Aug 10 - Healthy Sunday

Went ECP for Coffee Bean breakfast and cycling with Yuni. It was raining in the morn at Serangoon, luckily it stopped when we were about to leave and ECP was still clear of grey clouds. Cycled for an hour plus and it started to rain. Then it poured. So we gotta head home before our 2hrs is up.
30 Aug 10 - Princess's Birthday

Went Peach Garden for lunch with parents, without the kids. Sometimes, it's peaceful to go out without the kids. lol. Food at Peach Garden, Novena branch was so-so only. My sis says the OCBC building branch was better.

Me n princess went bowling @ civil service club (farrer park) after the not-so-heavy lunch. Loser had to pay for the games. lol. But it was so cheap la. $1.50 per game nia...cos it was still before 2pm.

Next, went Tea Cosy @ PS for high tea. :) I had always wanted to go there! The high tea set for 2 was quite value for money. It's a nice place to high tea/chill out after work with girlfriends.

And last but not least, ended the day with home-cooked dinner by mum and cake cutting by the (ahem) Princess.

Another long weekend post to come.... :)

Sometimes I have the urge to travel alone...for the experience...I think it is something that one should do it once in their life.

Not only my friends, even colleagues are also concerned about my future! So scary! Was shocked that there are pple talking abt me! Someone even mentioned tt he will be happy if i am attached! Faintzz... I had to confirmed w my colleague if my ears are playing tricks! lol!

Came back from the BBQ Yuni organised for the brothers and sisters. Can't wait for 10.10.10 to come :)

~ Happenings in July ~

I hate July! That's what I posted in FB on 1 Jul I think. I hate July cos it's one of the the longest months in the year and to make it worse, there is no public holiday in July! Though it's a long month, it passes so fast! So fast that it's so scary! It's going mid-Aug soon. Time really flies. Occupied with work & meetings. Was glad that I still had time to meet up with friends.

A quick glance at what I did in July (in case, one day my memory really fails):

2 Jul 10 - Met up with SY and Joy (SK flew kite) for dinner @ JPot, Vivocity and adjourned to Coffee Bean for drinks and chit chat. It was still the WC fever, so we went home to watch the Brazil vs Holland match :p

6 Jul 10 - Applied half day leave to bring aunty and cousin (from Bali) to shop and eat. Went Bugis and I've sinned again, ever since I break fast for shopping, I have been buying non-stop. I think i should start my 100 days journey again.

7 Jul 10 - Met Linda and gang for dinner to catch up with Junnie (getting married in Nov and moving to Sembawang tmr!!) Went Hot Tomato Express @ PS to dine. The place was quite crowded and the price was quite affordable. But the food is normal and turns cold very fast.
10 Jul 10 - Met up with SY to shop and dine. To control my impulse shopping, I only brought $50! No cards, just ez-link card for transport. Spent most of the $ on dinner @ Ramen Play, 313 Somerset. The ramen cannot be compared to Tampopo's one.

11 Jul 10 - Lenny is back! We met up for ktv, as usual, after a simple breakfast @ City Square Mall (change of plan from American breakfast to economic bee hoon :p)

17 Jul 10 - Met up with Jas, Shups and YH @ Jas's house. Jas cooked her 拿手好菜 - Pineapple Rice and Potato Carrot Soup. We brought the rest of the food. And I made Tiramisu! Glad the feedback was good :) Then, went to watch Inception with Linda and wanted to go SMU for the Nights Festival. But we were both too lazy to go squeeze with pple. Haha

18 Jul 10 - Met up with Lenny for lunch @ JPot (my 2nd visit there in Jul!) before she returns to Aussie. As usual, there was non-stop laughing with Shu Shu and Laura ard. Haha. Then, we went B&J for desserts, had my fav Choco Fudge Brownie!! :)

22 & 23 Jul 10 - Had fever on Thu night and was on MC on Fri. Slept almost the entire day away!

29 Jul 10 - Joycelyn's bday! The few of us applied pm leave to celebrate her bday tog. We tried to be tai tai by gg ION for high tea. Wanted to go TWG but there was a queue! So we went The Marmalade Pantry instead. The cupcakes look so pretty.

30 Jul 10 - Went Settlers after work with colleagues. I should say it's the first after work outing with this bunch of colleagues. Took quite a number of our unglam faces when we were playing Jenga. (Photos in FB) lol. Hope to have more gatherings with them in future!

Anyway, I started my 100 days journey too! To curb my impulse shopping! LOL. I attended the Summit on 6 & 7 May and I started my "100 days no shopping" on 10 May. It was alright in the beginning. And when GSS started, I tried to avoid malls. I was on leave on 21 Jun to look after my bro (cos my mum was at Batam). We went Tampines to meet my sis for lunch. Then me and bro watched Toy Story 3 tog. And I sinned!!! Stepped into Mango and sinned!! After 42 days of control!! (T___T) I tried on 2 tops and liked them a lot and asked the sales assistant whether there are new pieces (hoping there's no new piece). In the end, both designs had new pieces and I bought them both! There goes my "fasting" for shopping. :p Will try again next time. Heehee.

Had SWRC AGM @ HQ, ended early and was still early for movie treat. So went TCC @ Somerset (beside Centrepoint) for a drink with colleague. Had the most sinful Orea Mocha Frappe. :p The movie treat is a SWRC event where we can buy movie tix at subsidised rate. :) Watched Karate Kid with dad, sis n the 2 boys. It was a nice movie, though i didn't see any karate elements?

Met up with Shuping, Jaslyn & Yinghui for lunch @ TCC. Got a bag from SP & Jas and Bodyshop lotion from YH. :) And yes, I was at TCC again. LOL. Cos i wanted to eat their pasta. TCC is having promo in conjunction with GSS. 1-for-1 for main course/pasta. GOOD DEAL!!

In clockwise direction, from top left-hand corner: 1) Shuping & Jaslyn with their belated bday gift from Yinghui. 2) I like Fruiti Delight, very refreshing!! 3) My main course. 4) Shrooms Bitez for appetiser. Eat it while it's hot!
Went ION and Wisma to shop after lunch. Saw a nice skirt from BYSI. I like! Control! (OH!! I never mention about my 100 days no shopping! shall blog abt it soon. :p)

Went 313 @ Somerset, Cineleisure & Orchard Central w sis for impromptu shopping. And yes, couldn't resist not buying the skirt and dress i saw for the 2nd time!!! Arghhhh.

We were hungry and got a bite from BFF! Best Fries Forever! LOL. Nice fries!! The potatoes come from USA (as claimed by BFF) and there are 6 different sauce you can choose. I tried the Wow Wild West - a mix of spice and cheese. VERY NICE! i will go back again! :)

Muscle woman = Elaine Ker :p She joined us as temp staff after her A levels. She just finished her 1st sem and went for holidays, and finally had time to meet us. LOL.

Uncle Paul has craving for steamboat, so Lenice intro this Charcoal Fish Head Steamboat @ Tan Quee Lan street (Behind Parco Bugis Junction). We were there at ard 645pm and there was a short queue.

Saw this bike while queueing.

The queue got even longer when we were inside and when we came out. So go that place must chop chop, cannot sit long long and chat de. Haha.

Dishes we ordered. There is a special prawn roll too, but the dish was too far for me to take a pic of it. :p All the dishes were nice. I love their soup! It can be refilled!

Went there for lunch with mum, sis & bro. Ordered these with a pot of tea. :p hmmm...ooo...think there was a bowl of porridge too! It's called 三宝粥 i think. We can choose 3 types of ingredients we want to be in the porridge. Hee. And I didn't take a photo of the porridge, dunno why. :p

Yes, i love ramen, especially ramen from Tampopo!!! My all time favourite! Woahaha. Ate ramen quite often recently. Shall do a post on Ramen. :p

Ramen was introduced to Japan after World War II, when Japanese troops returning from China and other parts of East Asia decided to set up their own Chinese restaurants and re-create the simple noodle dish sold by Chinese push-cart vendors around the region. Consisting of freshly made wheat-flour noodles, various toppings and a pork-based broth, Ramen, originally known as "Chinese Soba", has since become a staple part of Japanese cuisine. In fact, most districts in Japan today have their own signature-style of ramen - Miso Ramen from Hokkaio and Ie Kei Ramen from Yokohama - with the difference styles defined only by the type of toppings and broth used in its preparation.

Here's the No.1 ramen restaurant in SG - Tampopo Restaurant (Liang Court, Level 1) - heard that the one at Takashimaya is not as nice.

Their No.1 Black Pig Ramen!! I love it. The pork is so tender, ramen so smooth and soup base is delicious!!! Oh, and you must definitely add an egg! Their egg is the best!!!

Another nice one - Ramen with Pork Cutlet. The cutlet is very very nice!!!

Something new - Ramen with Char Siew (picture below)

We were sitting along the conveyor belt and the food will be delivered to your table! Dunno why our ramens were not delivered using the conveyor belt :( Kena cheated. Haha

No. 3 ramen restaurant in SG - Santouka (The Central @ Clarke Quay, Level 2)

This plate of pork is their shop's best selling side dish! And yes! The meat is very very very tender!!! Better than the char siew from Tampopo.

The egg looks similar to the Tampopo one, but Tampopo's one is nicer... :)

Ordered their Gyoza too. Think Tampopo's one is nicer too. Maybe cos Tampopo's one comes in a hotplate. :p

Char Siew Ramen

Their combination set is quite value for money. Between $16 ~ $17.50 and you can taste 2 types of main. Hee. And it comes with a salad. The egg is additional.

Next up: I wanna try the No.2 ramen restaurant in Singapore - Ippudo Ramen @ Mandarin Gallery :p

My 1st Half Marathon

My first Adidas Sundown.
My first Half Marathon.
I ran under the beautiful night sky, with full moon and many stars. Airplanes flew past quite frequently. A run without the sun is great! No sweat. No scorching heat. Too bad, many pple were complaining about the logistics support.

Started off the race together, me, Ah Bee, Xiaoli, Jason and one of their friend. Yihui came to support Bee. Our happy faces before the race:

We were running tog till the 14km mark. I continued, endured till every 100plus station, slowed down for a drink and continue running till the finishing line. Almost wanted to give up during the last km, had stitches. Keep telling myself it's ending soon. Because I know, if I had stop, I would not be able to pick up my momentum. So I just ran and ran and ran. Was glad that there were sms-es to keep me gg.

Not my timing though. I completed my half marathon before midnight, took 2:44:49. :)

Expectation turned disappointment...It was just my wishful thinking.

My 26th Birthday

So many candles on the cake...4 more years to 30! Boohoo

Applied leave on 21 May, went out with family for lunch @ Vienna International Buffet. (p.s. The food there is not very fantastic, i will not go back again.) Shopped for a while. Then I went to collect my Adidas Sundown racepack, and met Linda and Meiling for dinner + Ip Man 2.

Met up with Ong Heng, Kaisi, Wenqi & Meiyin on 22 May for dinner @ Spruce, followed by chill out session @ The Straits Wine Coy at Blamoral Plaza. (Will post the food photos from Spruce in another post :p)

It was a stay-home day on 23 May (except for a short grocery shopping w mum @ amk hub). Had a surprise from Yuni, she "delivered" Haagen Dazs ice-cream cakes!! :) Each piece looked just soooo delicious!! Then it was dinner at home + my favourite Lana chocolate cake (the 1st photo of this post)

Some of the presents i got... :) This year received quite a number of food items...Chocolates, Cookies and Ice-cream Cakes...Hehe...plus ribbon earrings & things for running - watch and wristband. & not forgetting jigsaw world vouchers! I can buy another puzzle soon. :)

I guess that is a common topic for essays in primary schools? I'm not going to write an essay here. :p

It was Mother's Day last Sunday. We bought a "Flower" for mum. :p An innovative creation by Pine Gardens. I've heard so much about Pine, and finally get the chance to buy from this shop. Nice cake eh? :)

Since I went to collect the cake, I bought a few of their favourites too for tea that day. Though we didn't get to go restaurant for english high-tea, we had an in-house one. :p The flowers have been with us for more than 10 yrs! I started to buy when i was in Pri 1 for mum on Mother's Day!

It's a race

It's gonna be a tough race. Was talking to my ex-boss and she was saying i became more low profile after moving to the new branch. I hope the other mgmt don't get this impression too. There are so many MX12 currently, and many have been here for years, many same as me. It is really gonna be a tough race. How to make myself survive through the race?? It's really tiring.

Some people are those who just want to 做好自己的本分. Some wants to be a little more ambitious and excel in their career. You gotta decide for yourself, where is your finishing line.

A few "projects" to settle. I want to finish it fast. And I want to take a short break and enjoy myself! Be it going overseas or just enjoying life in SG. :p

Last weekend, spent $$ on retail therapy. First at L'zzie @ Central, then a pair of running shoes from Asics. It's time to control, if not i will go bankrupt very soon....

Went Vivocity with Mr & Mrs Goh for shopping & dinner. We had ramen @ Aoba, and we realised that it is a subsidiary of Ajisen when we're making payment!! No wonder the standard wasn't very good. I was telling them I've not stepped into Ajisen for 2 yrs ++, ever since i ate Tampopo's ramen! :p (Wanted to eat at Tampopo after ktv yest, but it was soooo crowded @ 8pm!! We gotta wait at least 30min. :( In the end, we ate long john instead. Haha. What a great diff.)

Met up with Yuni & Xiaoli for dinner last Wed. We met at Central and I brought them to L'zzie! :p The salesgirl recognised me & remembered what I bought!! We had dinner @ Ma Maison. I like the interior of the restaurant, very cosy. The food was tasty (portion was just right) but a bit too salty. The mains that we all ordered we delicioussss. :) Just that we had to drink lots of water. Hoho.

So so so quiet that I am going crazy...It's a day most of my kakees are not around (Gosh, another round in Jun)...My branch is only half strength today! And I feel more blue than i do on a Monday. Sighh~~What a Friday....No excitement at all. Sianzzzzzz.....

Kaisi was saying my blog is becoming a food blog...cos almost every post is about food. Haha. And I am becoming a foodie...keep eating n eating. Woahaha. True enough, I have eating a lot recently, esp in Mar & Apr. Probably due to the frequent meet up with frens. Hee. And when frens meet, what beats a chit chat session over a hearty meal? :p

So here I am...posting 4 of the places I went recently...

1) Old HongKong Kitchen @ Square 2, Novana on 11 Apr 10, Lunch

This is my 2nd visit to this restaurant, went there once with Jaslyn & Shups. I like the food they serve, some are quite unique. Having always eat at Crystal Jade for Dim Sum, this is definitely a good change for my family. :p And we all love the dishes we ordered! 8 dishes and the bill came to $63, which i thought was reasonable. :) Don't Drool!!

2) Kintamani Indonesian Restaurant @ Furama Riverfront on 16 Apr 10, Lunch

My ex-boss gave a treat to her dept for their hard work for the past FY, so me and JT (CSB alumni) were invited by her. :) As there were some non-Chinese staff, we had to go to a Halal restaurant. The variety at the restaurant is quite limited. But given that there is credit card promo, 1-for-1 for UOB/DBS credit cards (usual price is $40 per pax), it was quite worth it. And I think the food at Kintamani is much better than Straits Kitchen. :p

3) Ministry of Steak @ Serangoon Gardens on 16 Apr 10, Dinner

Met sis, Yuni and MS for dinner. (Me & Yuni ran on the next morn to burn the fats :p) The concept & price is similar to Astons, but MS was saying Astons's chicken was better. I ate their steak and it was normal too (what could beat Mortons?!?! :p) So I guess this will be my first and last visit there. Ooopsssyyy.

4) Greenwood Fish Bistro @ Greenwood Avenue on 17 Apr 10, Lunch

Met up with Kaisi and gang to celebrate Heng's b'day. It's been a few years that we did not meet up to celebrate his bday. Woahaha. Can't remember why. :p We gave him a MJ set and treated him to lunch. (was suppose to buy MJ table too, but most shops don't provide delivery) This place was recommended by him. The food was nice and seafood was fresh, definitely better than Fish & Co & Manhattan, but slightly more exp. I think $222 for everything we ordered was worth since all the dishes we ordered were so delicious! :) (Just realise we didn't take any group photo!!)

*After eating Lana Cake for soooo many years, I finally know where its shop is located. Woahaha. Just beside Greenwood Fish Bistro! So if you ever go Greenwood for the Fish & Chips, it is a must to drop by Lana for their chocolate cake!! :)

L'Espresso @ Goodwood Park Hotel

Met up with the girls to celebrate Yinghui's and Shuping's belated birthdays and Jaslyn's birthday in advance. The girls prefer to meet for high tea, so we decided to go L'Espresso for their English High Tea Buffet, enjoying tai-tai life on a friday afternoon. :p

Though the price was quite high, look at the crowd! It was full house!

Modestos @ Vivocity

Met up with Yuni, and my sis, for dinner @ Modestos. (3-缺-1, Lenny is missing!!) The side dishes and mains we ordered were delicious!! I love them all!! The taste of their carbonara is special.

As usual, we were cham whoring at the quite quiet restaurant. The 2 siao-zar-bors...

Heart Bistro @ Palais Renaissance

As usual, Siying is always good at recommending places for hangout. Palais Renaissance is a place for tai-tai. Away from the bustling main Orchard area, located after the Thai Embassy, opposite the Hilton Hotel. Heart Bistro is a good place for hangout with friends.

Seriously speaking, I can't remember when was the last time i saw Yuxian. Many many years i think. It was a nice catch up, a pity that Yuni couldn't make it. Here's a group shot.

We ordered their Hearty Brunch which consists of either 2 courses at S$30++ or 3 courses at S$32++ (inclusive of coffee or tea). It was mix and match. We tried a total of 10 items - 2 starters, 4 mains and 4 desserts. Hehe. Super Sinful. I shall not elaborate more. But I must say all the things that we ordered were delicious!!! Yum Yum!!

Given the reasonable price, I think I will be back. Looking forward to the next gathering, which will most prob be at PS Cafe. :p

All of us dressed up and turned up. Heehee...Thanks to Wenqi, we had a nice and value-for-money meal at Morton's The Steakhouse. As mentioned in the post title, we met up to celebrate Meiyin's and Kaisi's birthdays. And an advance farewell dinner for Shuhui, who will be gg Japan for her Jap language studies for 1 year. We also wanted to give Kaisi her ROM gift. Hehe.

Can't agree more that this is the best steak that i had eaten so far. Hoho...And the service there is really really very good. Check this out! Customized Menu!!! If there is an occasion, Morton's will do a customised menu. So cool right.

Our server for the evening. There will be a server for each table, who will intro the menu using the real meat, seafood, vege (innovative eh) and take our order. Huge lobster!!!
We ordered 3 sets for sharing, with 3 warm chocolate cakes. Each set comes with Soup, steak with choice of seafood and a side dish. Everything was so yummy! And we couldn't finish cos the portion was so big. Can't imagine if each of us had 1 set.

Oh, before the soup, they served bread. One big loaf of onion bread. Special~ Here's the soup, we order Onion Soup and Lobster Bisque. I thought the onion soup will taste very onionish, but to our surprise, it was very nice. They added cheese, slight creamy based. And below is the lobster bisque, which came with a tinge of cognac. And the soup was super creamy and thick. Heavenly. Woahaha

Here's the steak - My favourite Medium Rare Ribeye. Gosh, it was soooo juicy and yummy. And this is only half the portion!! I should have take the other side to show how thick is it. Keke

Ta dah~~~ what a spread...Hoho...the 3 seafood include (Super big) Crab Cake, Breaded Prawns and Bacon-wrapped (super-big) Scallops. The 3 side dishes include sauted mushrooms, creamy spinach and jumbo baked potato. All were soooooooo delicious!!! And I understand from Qi that they gotta ensure that these seafood, potato, etc exceed a certain amount of weight before they sell them.Close up of the Sides

After the sinful meal, we did not have the chance to present to Kaisi her ROM gift. The puzzle was in Heng's car boot. Haa. So we persuaded her to go for a short second round of drinks. Hehe. We went to Wine Connection and shared a bottle of dessert wine.

$10million draw tonight! Singapore Pools is earning bug bucks again. And Singaporeans are queueing to buy toto since yesterday!

Initially I didn't want to buy (cos rats has no luck in windfall this yr), but my colleague started to daydream what he will do with $10million before lunch. In the end, we went to this coffeeshop for lunch, which has a Singapore Pools outlet nearby. And in the end, I bought. Haa.

If I strike the $10million tonight, I will:
- buy 2 condo units for rental to expats;
- apply 1 - 2 months leave to go europe;
- bring my family to japan;
- invest 30%?;
- donate $100k?;
- buy a car;
- give my parents $2mil;
- save the rest as reserves
.........................
...............
.....
and the list will go on.

I've not reached the stage this rat has reached yet. Still sober. But starting to feel the pressure. Workload is neverending, it wasn't like this in the past, or rather, this is due to my bad habit. I like to procrastinate. I like to leave it till nearer the deadline so that i will feel the stress and do it. But wrong, when people give you deadline, it doesn't mean you submit by the deadline. You are expected to submit earlier than the deadline.

There are things that I've delayed for a few months. This is bad. I target to complete by Mar. Feb was so short with only 16 working days, due to training, public holidays and teambuilding. Mar will be a busy month, despite me not doing finance for the FY closing, there are so many trainings and events in Mar too. So many dates to remember. Have never been so busy before. Wonder this is good or bad. Haa.

It's Friday today and I don't have the mood to work at all. Sometimes I think is my workstation's problem. Macam some spell cast here. Once I sit down, I feel sleepy. Next Monday is Mar le. Chiong ah!!!

Yiwen's back for CNY!

Marina Square

Yiwen came back from Japan for CNY for a week. Managed to meet up with her for lunch. :) We met at Cityhall and walked to Marina Sq for lunch @ Manhattan Fish Market and head to Andersens for desserts. Hoho...So sinful!!! It was a great afternoon, chatting and laughing and kaypoh-ing.

Took a group photo at Andersens - Yiwen, Nat, Siying and Me! (Yuni was sick and couldn't join us.)

All of us ordered this - Lobster platter (or whatever it's called) as it's 1-for-1. The lobster is really MINI. The platter also comes with fish chunks, calamari, rice and fries.

Walked ard MS for a while and we went Andersens for dessert and coffee...macam tai-tai lifestyle...eat n eat, chat n chat. Haa..We ordered a couple fondue, which comes with 5 mini scoops of ice-creams. Heehee.

I am tempted to go Japan! Should I?

Ju Ju Hokkaido Hotpot @ Paradiz Centre

Met up with Linda, Meiling and Wanting for steamboat lunch at Ju Ju Hokkaido Hotpot. Yup, Wanting is back from Doha for 2 - 3 weeks till CNY.

This place is recommended by ML. Hee...It's owned by the boss of Tao's Restaurant, hence the concept is similar. Steamboat lunch is a 6-course meal and each person pays ard $23 after taxes i think.

Celebrated Shuhui's 26th birthday at Players. Saw the website and thought it's quite an interesting place.

Me, Shuhui and Meiyin arrived first and we started to play this game - Dirty Minds. An interesting game where "dirty" clues were given to guess an object/person/etc. There were some other interesting games too, but we were just to lazy to read the instructions. Haha..We ended up playing Monopoly cards which Shuhui brought along. :p

Shuhui order this, I think it was Pork Chop.

I ordered Chicken Aglio Olio i think. It's been too long, and i can't recall much. :(

Girls Night Out are fun! :) We played, ate, drank and the girls talked about buying houses and marriages. Haa...Kaisi's getting married first among us!

Shuhui teaching us the game of Monopoly. Hoho...Me went to buy a deck too, and will play with cousins and siblings at home. :p

Post Dated Again 01 - The Impromptu Bangkok Trip

Bangkok, Thailand

Went BKK with my sis, SY and SK. It was quite an impromptu trip. Booked the tix and hotel on the last week of Dec 09, and off we flew to BKK on 10 Jan 2010...Hoho...I love impromptu trips!

Day 1

Went hotel to check in, went Pratunam Centre's Foodcourt for lunch and we head straight to Chaktuchat!!! I love that place!!! So many things to buy!!! And the weather was super sunny!!! Felt accomplished when the bargaining was successful and we clinched a good deal. Woahahaa.

We stayed at Tango Vibrant Living Place, which is just opposite Indra Sq, and a 10 min walk to Pratunam Centre. :) Am very satisfied with the hotel, it's new and security is good. Staff are friendly too. Hehe. And I thought the price was quite reasonable. Big big room.

Breakfast is included. But we the variety isn't that much, can't expect much from such a small hotel. But then, it was better than nothing. Hoho.

Day 2

Shopping Day! We went Pratunam Centre to shop and had a late lunch.

We wanted to go to the Grand Palace, but we are not allowed to enter due to our attire. Haa. So we met this nice civil servant outside the Ministry of Defence (Opp Grand Palace) who intro us to a few temples and helped us hired a tutu, which only charges us for 20 Baht!!! (We could believe it!!) The driver brought us to a few temples and jewel factories.

Our first group photo with the lucky buddha. Hopefully lucky buddha will bless us with good luck for the tiger year. This temple is beside a school and this photo is taken by a teacher who is teaching the kids buddhism.

The driver also brought us to Golden Mount, the highest point in BKK. (macam Mt Lofty in Adelaide)

View of BKK from Golden Mount. The driver was telling us that the sunset at that place is very nice. Many tourists were there, I guess it's a popular place of interest for the tourists and the locals. Ring the bells as you walk up and down from the temple.

In the end, we paid the driver 100 Baht for the good and long service. Ended the day with Steamboat Dinner at MBK Shopping Centre.

Day 3

Started the day by going 4-Face Buddha to pray. Then we went Central World to shop (main objective is to go to the Naraya outlet there. Woahaha)

Head back to the hotel to put our sins, and we went to Chinatown for lunch. Had Shark's Fin and not-so-nice Bird's Nest. It was so cheap as compare to SG!

Wandered around Chinatown after lunch. OMG! This place is a shopping heaven too! Bags are so trendy and when you buy in bulk, there is more discount! Can buy and sell in SG man! And SK shot a Visa Ad at Chinatown. Haha..

Wanted to watch Muay Thai de, but the tix were very ex (i think SGD70 per pax?). So we went to the nearby Night Bazaar to shop for a while. The shops just opened and we were the first customer for a few stores we went. The owners will use the cash we pay them and to touch their goods, which means bring them good business.

After a short shopping trip at the Night Bazaar (we were all quite broke le), we went stopped at Silom station and dined at A&W. So near yet so far from Pat Pong (red light district of BKK). Haa.

Lastly, on our way back to hotel, we dropped by Siam area. The photo below looks like some ad for the mall huh. :p

Cinema at Siam Paragon. The box office and waiting area is so cool man. SG should have something like this. Hoho.

There is also a bowling alley there. And there is bowling buffet! Haa. The designer pins are so pretty!

We then walked from Siam Paragon back to the hotel, think it took us 30 min or more, with pauses along the way to buy things. :p BKK traffic is still so busy at night!

Ssssiiiinnnnnssss.....Looked at how much me and my sis bought!! Some were gifts and the rest are ours!

I can't wait to go BKK again!! Woahahaha....

Time really flies!! Gosh...My last post was dated 5 Jan!!! I've got so many things to blog! But everytime I login, I dunno how to start...and I've got too many photos to upload. Grrrr...

Guess this weekend will be burnt out too...gg ktv (though i am still coughing) and baking CNY cookies on sunday (hopefully it will be a success...haa)...n work is never ending...so I think the only time that i can sit down and blog about Jan is during CNY...not looking fwd to it actually, because CNY is so different now...no more gathering at grandma's place on the first day...i just wish tt i could escape from CNY...sigh~

Am looking forward to tmr now...gg ECP for teambuilding...hee...this yr we will be building BIG sandcastles...half of the division went today and they said it was tiring, but i guess it was fun, judging from the photos on FB. :p

Traders Hotel, Singapore

Congrats to Jaslyn to becoming Mrs Tham officially. :) Attended her wedding on 19 Dec 09 @ Traders Hotel. Saw a few familiar faces. The ballroom was elongated and small (as compared to those wedding dinners with 40 tables kind), with 19 tables lined in 2 rows and the aisle in the centre. Cosy, Heart-warming, Joyous.

A few more days to 10 Jan...Woohoo...going BKK after 15 yrs! Since i've made this last minute decision, shall fully enjoy it (i hope!) and work like crazy when i'm back.

Goodbye 2009, Hello 2010

It's time to say goodbye to another year again. Time really flies...2009 passes in a dash...Seems like 2009 just started and in a blink, it's 2010!!! 4 post-dated posts below. Dunno why, I realised i didnt blog for the whole of Dec! What was i doing?? Aren't Dec supposed to be more relax? Maybe I was just too lazy to use the comp again when i get home ba.

People will always reflect what they have done for the past year. Looking back, I can't think of anything that I've done that is really significant.

Mar/Apr 09 - changed job scope, from finance related to HR related (people development. i.e. training)
Jun 09 - Went HK with family
Oct 09 - Went Aussie with linda n meiling
Oct 09 - Completed my 1st 10km run with yuni (n ms)
Dec 09 - Completed another 10km with linda, meiling n seowyan

2010 will be a challenging year for me, in terms of work. Bosses want a lot from training, gotta come out with a mega plan, thinking of it makes me scared. But I must be positive, will do a good job. No, must do a good job.

2010..may not have the $$ to go for a long long trip le..so this yr will be a yr for short tripssss. :p Sometimes it's good to have a short trip after every 2-3 months, one will need to recharge. Hoho...So my first stop this yr will be Bangkok. Will blog abt it when I'm back. Going from 10-13 Jan, quite impromptu actually. Hopefully can go to other places like vietnam, cambodia, etc.

Will resume my jogging, hopefully can run thrice a wk. Shall start from twice a wk first. Hehe. Then I'll sign up for a half-marathon this yr. Will progress to full marathon next yr.

May 2010 be a better year for everyone! Let's all make 2010 a better year! :)

Christmas! Went Orchard to shop with sis, the road was blocked for pple to walk ard and take photos. It was super crowded!

The purpose was to spend her Taka vouchers, but she didn’t find anything suitable. Time passes quite fast and it started to rain. Was supposed to go Chomp Chomp and dine with family, but due to the rain, we dine at Orchard instead. Brought her to Orchard Central to dine, 313@Somerset is soooooo crowded!!!!

She wanted to eat Thai food, so I brought her to Central Thai to eat.

Christmas Eve!! Time flies…2009 is coming to an end…This year, had Christmas Breakfast Potluck + Gift Exchange in office. We had to select the gift recipient 2 wks before the eve and buy a present for him/her. Also, each of us had to bring food for the breakfast. There was so much food, and I think 30% or more was leftover. For the gift exchange, all the gifts were placed on the table and we had to take turn to guess which present is ours and guess who is it from. I got B&J gift vouchers! So happy!

There was $2.50 Mac meal, drumlets, fried wanton, fishballs, poh piahs, curry puffs, mini donuts, home-cooked mee siam, savoury, onion rings, drinks and logcake.

Christmas Eve is a half day for us. Met up with Yan and Dou for lunch and gift exchange at VivoCity. We went Bosses (黑社会) for lunch. The extra one didn’t wear black.

Tried a few dim sum dishes..I find them normal, not the very fantastic kind.

After lunch, walked around Vivo for a while and head to Harbourfront Centre’s Coffee Club for a drink and our gift exchange. I got an Adidas visor from Dou and a jewellery box from Yan. Yan got a super big Little Twin Stars mug from me and an umbrella from Dou. Dou got a Levis t-shirt and a Green Chilli (to represent Chang Dou) wrist pad from us.

Took pm leave on this day and met up with Yuni and our sisters. As usual, we went Partyworld for KTV, and then went Tiong Bahru market for dinner. Ate my favourite Hokkien Mee from Tiong Bahru market..happy..hoho..

After Dinner, we were roaming ard town area to find a place to chill out. Wanted to go Timbre, but it was too crowded. So we went Chijmes and sat at Hog’s Breath Café to drink, chat and take photos! Haha...Here are some decent photos we took. Keke.

Then me and Yuni exchanged Xmas present, I gave her a musical jewellery box and she gave me a nice pair of earrings. :)

Completed my first SC Marathon. Joined the 10km in 2009, will sign up for 21km or 42km in 2010. :) Ultimately, I will want to run a full marathon, and get a finisher T-shirt. Hehe...

Signed up with Linda, ML and SY for the 10km run. Ah Bee signed up for 10km run too. Dou signed up for full marathon, as usual.

Prawning @ Punggol

Met up with Jaslyn (bride-to-be) and Shuping on this afternoon to hangout. :) We had a great afternoon together. Hehe...Met at SengKang for a quick lunch and took free shuttle bus provided by Punggol Marina Country Club to our Prawning destination. :p

Prawning is an expensive activity. The charges for 1 rod + bait for:
- 1 hr is $15
- 2 hrs is $25
- 3 hrs is $30

We prawned for 2 hrs and caught 22 prawns in all. Hoho...which means we spent $75 for 22 prawns!! Woahaha...wat expensive prawns huh... :p

Friday the 13

One of the branch in my company had their teambuilding on this day. Their activity was Amazing Race. The 3 destinations include ECP, Bukit Timah Nature Reserve and Kranji War Memorial. I was helping out, stationing at BT. Here are some photos of BT and Kranji War Memorial.

I wanted to eat my breakfast at BT while waiting for the teams to arrive. Suddenly, I saw a monkey and wanted to take a photo of it. Before I know, the monkey was already snatching my McMuffin! I shouted! Haa. It was quite strong ya, so i didn't dare to snatch back from it too. In the end, I only had Ice-Milo for breakfast. :(

Here's the monkey...enjoying the McMuffin. The person-in-charge was saying the monkey is lucky to have such nice breakfast that day.
